ROCK AGAINST DYSTROPHY And All Stars Ready To Rock The 10 Year Anniversary

Back in 2009 brothers Jay Scorpion and Turbo, both living with Spinal Muscular, found a way to combine their love of rock and metal, the rock and metal communities desire to unite help others, and fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association into an effort that’s now become known across the country as Rock Against Dystrophy. They had no clue that ten years later the event that started at The Trash Bar in Brooklyn, New York would last ten years. They also wouldn’t have guessed that their dream of putting local bands together with an All Star band of rock and metals greatest names being involved and it becoming an annual event that has everyone anticipating of when, where, and who will be helping to “Rock Out To Knock Out MD!”

Wait no longer because the Rock Against Dystrophy 10 Year Anniversary Benefit is happening on Sunday, September 29th and is returning to The Headliner in Neptune City, New Jersey. Tickets are only $20, yes you read that right as it’s Rock Against Dystrophy’s belief to keep the opportunity to help a great cause while being in an intimate setting with some of rock and metal’s greatest affordable for everyone. Tickets can be purchased here with proceeds going to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Returning to be the MC for the event is the highly renowned tattoo artist as well as founding member and bass player of New Jersey’s Broken Past TattooTony.

The line up, as it has been for the past several years, features local bands sharing the stage with the RAD All Stars. This years local bands are Metal Life Crisis, Arc’d Angel, Broken Past, and Pierced.

This years RAD All Stars is made up of Bobby Blitz (Overkill), Mark Tornillo (Accept), Nina Osegueda (A Sound Of Thunder), Ron Lipnicki (ex-Overkill), Danny Watts (BulletBoys), Nathan Opposition (Ancient VVisdom), Marc Lopes (Let Us Prey), Dan Lorenzo (Hades), Jimmy Schulman (Hades), Jack Frost (Seven Witches), Scott Metaxas (Prophet), Ken Dubman (Prophet), Ed Avila (Shotgun Symphony), and Charlie Calv (Angel). Plus new additions to the RAD All Stars have been known to happen because you never know who’ll show up.

Bobby Blitz of Overkill is ready to go; “Ladies and Gentlemen, please join me in helping to celebrate the 10th, yes 10th anniversary of R.A.D. in the great state of New Jersey!  It happens September 29th at the Headliner in Neptune and we are pulling out all the stops.  So join Turbo, myself and host of International talent for a great cause that will rock the disease and the state!”

“When my brother and I first started Rock Against Dystrophy we would talk about how cool it’d be to get our favorite bands involved”, adds Turbo, “and here we are ten years later rockin for a great cause WITH members of rock and metal’s elite year after year because they believe in the cause whom I’m honored to call friends as we keep in touch year round.”
