AUTHOR & PUNISHER STREAMING NEW ALBUM, MELK EN HONING, VIA NOISEY

Author & Punisher is streaming the outfit’s new album, Melk En Honing (June 30, Housecore Records), in its entirety via Noisey (http://noisey.vice.com/blog/author–punisher-is-the-art-of-noise-realized).

A video for the song “Shame” debuted this morning via UK outlet Crack Magazine (http://crackmagazine.net/video-premieres/news-posts/author-punisher-shame/).

Melk En Honing is a deeply personal album, in the same way that Drone Machines was, where each song has really etched itself into my being,” explained Tristan Shone. “Listening, each track pulls at some internal sentiment and it’s powerful.  I think it’s probably the closest representation of live Author & Punisher that you will hear and I hope it’s enjoyed across genres.”

Decibel Magazine in an 8/10 said of the eight-song album, “the maniacal oscillating bee-swarm of ‘Callous and Hoof’ is a good entry point for the already-familiar, and the multi-tracked angelic clean chorus to ‘Shame’ makes the verse’s industrial stop more than novel than it should be…”  Metal Sucks said of Author & Punisher mastermind and the new album, “The record is one of Shone’s nastiest and sleekest works to date, traveling through all sorts of unlikely soundscapes on its punishing journey.”

Phil Anselmo, who produced Melk En Honing, said of Author & Punisher: “Tristan Shone is the epitome of what Housecore Records stands for, and looks for in musical expression: absolute originality and innovation. It is our complete pleasure to facilitate such a fantastic, artistic mind and expression of bombastic works. There is no pigeonholing this man’s art.” Melk En Honing was recorded at Nodeferatus lair in North Shore, LA.

“While a union between Author & Punisher and the southern metal god Phil Anselmo might initially seem strange,” said Noisey in their album stream. “Anselmo’s contribution to Shone’s sound is both brilliant and undeniable. Anselmo has been utilizing vocal layering since Cowboys From Hell, and you can hear how he’s influenced Shone’s vocal approach in ‘The Barge,’ as well as throughout the rest of Melk En Honing.

Author & Punisher have two Southern California album release performances: July 4 at Complex in Los Angeles and July 11 at Brick by Brick in San Diego.  Shone will also bring his machines to Cold Waves 2015, Sept. 25 and 27 in Chicago and Housecore Horror Film Festival Nov. 13 to 15.

Pre-order bundles for the eight-song album are available now via Housecore Records (http://www.thehousecorestore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=THCS&Product_Code=PAPB&Category_Code=BNDL).  Digital pre-orders are available now via iTunes and include an immediate download of “Callous and Hoof” (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/melk-en-honing/id992501839).
