Monolord, the Swedish trio Decibel Magazine described as “doom, stoner and sludge, all mixed up and not entirely devoted to any genre,” return with Vænir on April 28 (RidingEasy Records) with the song “We Will Burn” streaming now via Cvlt Nation (http://www.cvltnation.com/exclusive-cvlt-nation-streaming-monolord-we-will-burn/).

“’We Will Burn’ is pure misanthropy,” said Monolord drummer Esben Willems. “It deals with the disgust for what we humans do to ourselves and to our own planet. No matter how clear the results are to us, we seem to be selectively ignorant to the fact that we are a self-destructive breed and that we are digging each other’s graves. It’s not a matter of if, but when. We WILL burn and we’re heading there at blinding speed. On top of that, mentioning that fact is severely threatening to a lot of people – actually to the vast majority – so any attempt to slow down that man-made apocalypse is beaten down on, hard.”
The band, who released their highly-regarded debut album, Empress Rising, last Spring, also via RidingEasy Records, have streamed one additional song from the forthcoming album, “Cursing The One” (https://soundcloud.com/easyriderrecords/monolord-cursing-the-one).
Pre-orders are available now with several limited edition vinyl versions available as well as a variety of colored vinyl and CD packages: http://ridingeasyrecords.com/. Digital pre-orders via iTunes are available now (http://geni.us/Monolord).
