In 2009 Internet radio personalities and brothers Turbo and Jay Scorpion took their love of everything rock and metal, support from local bands, and desire to help find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy and started raising awareness and funds through Rock Against Dystrophy. They bring the fans of rock and metal together to rock out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy several times a year with benefit concerts where proceeds go the benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Last month Rock Against Dystrophy had its second All Star benefit show at Dingbatz which featured members of Accept, Overkill, TT Quick, Skid Row, and more.
Now Rock Against Dystrophy is taking its next steps towards bringing its message to a bigger audience with the help of New Jersey’s thrash metal legends Overkill. The exclusive T-shirt was designed by NY artist Joey James who took elements of both entities logos and put them together into one design. This shirt is ONLY available from Overkill during their fall tour with Symphony X and proceeds from the sales of this shirt to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
“It’s kind of mind blowing,” says Turbo. “I’ve gone from listening to guys like Bobby Blitz and Mark Tornillo on my stereo to having the honor of calling them friends and believing in the cause my brother and I created.”
