ROCK AGAINST DYSTROPHY Is Back To Rock Out And Honor A Family Member!

In 2019 Rock Against Dystrophy celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary of rocking out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy with proceeds going to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, something founders Turbo and Jay Scorpion (brothers who have Spinal Muscular Atrophy) have been determined to do each year. They were geared up for the next several years of rocking for their cause and then the pandemic hit.

“Not doing our benefit last year hurt so much,” says Turbo. “We’ve never let anything stop us and we literally had no choice. But now we are as fires up as ever!”

The effort to rock out to knock out Muscular Dystrophy is ready to rock for 2021 and just as loud as ever. This year it returns to The Headliner in Neptune, New Jersey. Returning to lead the charge as the Emcee for the night is a man with a heart as big as himself is TattooTony Rodriguez.

This year also will honor Chris Homeny, a member of the Rock Against Dystrophy family, who recently passed away during the planning of this years event. Because of his support of music on all levels through Old Bridge Metal Militia and Militia Nations he and his wife Pattie have been a part of the cause for several years. Part of this years proceeds will be going to the family of Chris Homeny.

“The news of losing Chris was a huge blow,” says Turbo. “We literally just finished working together getting the local bands playing this year booked. This year we rock for Chris, his family, and the cause.”

Rock Against Dystrophy continues to combine the local music scene with names the world knows with Incognito Theory, Blud Red Roses, and Psychoprism ready to crank it to eleven to get the crowd ready for this years All Star band.

Who may you ask is the R.A.D. All Star band for 2021? Well this year get ready to rock with Mark Tornillo (Accept), Bumblefoot, John “JD” DeServio (Black Label Society),  Chris Caffery, Ron Lipnicki (Overkill), Danny Watts (BulletBoys), David DiPietro (T.T. Quick), Scott Metaxas (Prophet), Ken Dubman (Prophet), Russ Arcara (Prophet / Edgar Cayce Band), Jimmy Callahan (Prophet / Edgar Cayce Band), and Ed Avila (Shotgun Symphony), plus you never know who shows up.
