ROCK AGAINST DYSTROPHY Rallies Rock and Metal’s Stars For 2018 Benefit

In 2009 brothers Turbo and Jay Scorpion, whom have Spinal Muscular Atrophy, created Rock Against Dystrophy because the local bands they support through internet radio wanted to support them in their fight against Muscular Dystrophy. In 2014 things went up a notch as locals began combining their talents together in the fight and allowing the effort to continue to grow.

The effort to “rock out to knock out MD” continues on Sunday, August 26th 2018 at The Brighton Bar in Long Branch, NJ with the Rock Against Dystrophy All Stars Edition 2018. The event, like previous years, is a mixture of local bands alongside some of rock and metal’s biggest names to unite everyone under one roof to raise awareness and with proceeds going to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Returning to MC the event for the 6th year is New Jersey’s most famous tattoo artist Tattoo Tony of Under My Skin Tattoo Studio.

The local bands stepping up to bat this year are Paralysis, Negative Sky, Broken Past, and The Pain Method. All are right out of New Jersey and are very excited and honored to be part of this years benefit.

The 2018 version of the RAD All Stars is starting off strong with Bobby Blitz (Overkill), John “JD” Deservio (Black Label Society), Mike LePond (Symphony X), Marc Lopes (Let Us Prey), Danny Watts (BulletBoys), Dan Lorenzo (Hades), Ron Lipnicki (Overkill), David DiPietro (T.T. Quick), Ken Dubman (Prophet), Scott Metaxas (Prophet), Jack Frost (Seven Witches), Ed Avila (Shotgun Symphony), Andre Vanchot (Black Knight’s Castle), Charlie Calv (Punky Meadows), and more still to be announced.

Here’s a taste of what to expect courtesy of fan filmed video from the 2017 benefit.

The show is all ages and tickets are $20 each available day of show or for advanced tickets purchase here.

Stay tuned for more information as there’s always something cooking with Rock Against Dystrophy.
