Stereogum compared the eleven-song album to Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors, “not just in terms of the emotions inside, but also in terms of songwriting,” while NPR said Crooked Doors is a “a stunning hard-rock record that examines what happens after a breakup of any kind.” Entertainment Weekly said the album “leans on its substantial pop chops. Tracks like ‘Glow’ are more Heart than Led Zep, which is not a bad thing at all.” Metal Hammer UK recently nominated the band for “Best Underground Band” in their annual Golden Gods’ Awards.
Royal Thunder kicks off a North American tour on May 28 at Siberia in New Orleans. Wild Throne opens on all headlining dates, with Royal Thunder the joining Halestorm for a week of dates in mid-June.
