Finnish rockers SANTA CRUZ wrapped up their North American press trip yesterday with an amazing acoustic performance at the New York Offices of Spinefarm Records. The band played to a packed room, in front of some of the most influential press and industry heavyweights in the area. The four song acoustic set featured the band’s new single “We Are The Ones To Fall”, an older track entitled “Aiming High”, a brand new song that they haven’t even recorded yet “Wasted and Wounded” and rounded things out with an emotionally powerful cover version of Led Zeppelin’s “Thank You”. Spinefarm Records Worldwide General Manager Jonas Nachsin on the band’s visit: “We were happy to welcome SANTA CRUZ to the U.S. by hosting them in our New York City offices for a special acoustic performance. Spinefarm is now fully staffed in the U.S., with recent hires in A&R, Marketing and International, and along with our global teams in the UK, Japan and Europe, we are poised to have great success ahead.” SANTA CRUZ‘ debut North American single “We Are The Ones To Fall” is available as a digital download on iTunes HERE. Reared on a hefty diet of 80’s glam rock Americana, SANTA CRUZ are a Rock ‘n’ Roll sensation, who, despite their very young age have headlined numerous rock clubs of their own in their native Helsinki Rock City, scoring hordes of stark-raving-mad fans and reaping attention and endorsements from peers and media alike. SANTA CRUZ was formed in the year 2007, inspired by such greats as Skid Row and Guns ‘n’ Roses. After a few line-up changes and two demos the boys Taz (20, drums), Archie (20, lead vocals & lead guitars), Middy (20, bass) and Johnny (21, lead guitars) released a self-produced EP “Anthem For The Young ‘n’ Restless” (2011) and a music video for the title track. With the EP they achieved international media attention, including coverage in Classic Rock Magazine & national television in Finland. The band played well over a 100 shows, and scored a worldwide record deal with Spinefarm Records. “We Are The Ones To Fall” is just a sampling of what people can expect from these young rockers.
