Well, WWE WrestleMania has come and gone. While it wasn’t the absolute blockbuster that some years have been it was still full of more highlights than low. The one question going in was could Ronda Rousey actually compete and successfully in WWE. I for one was skeptical but proven wrong by her in ring performance. However, there is an issue with continuity of her persona as a superstar. Is she “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey or “Giggling” Ronda Rousey?
First I present to you here entrance at WrestleMania this past Sunday:
If she’s supposed to be a tough UFC fighter turned WWE superstar shouldn’t she be serious? Shouldn’t she be intense and strong?
But perhaps, for arguments sake she was nervous. Let’s say Ronda Rousey had her WrestleMania jitters and the giggling was nervous energy. Ok, I’ll give you that. But let’s look at RAW the very next night:
What’s the excuse now Ronda? This isn’t your first WWE RAW and your big debut at WrestleMania is done. Why still the giggles to the ring then all serious?
My opinion, she’s still not taking it seriously. She’s still star-struck yet claims she’s ready to compete. The “awe shucks” moment is over Ronda Rousey. You PROVED at WrestleMania that you’ve got what it takes to be a fully member of the WWE roster in the ring.
Now Ronda you need to take the next step. You’re not Bayley whose supposed to hug kids and be that youth grab. You are supposed to be ROWDY Ronda Rousey! You’re not a giggling schoolgirl, you’re a fighter? Or are you?
I for one was glad to see Ronda Rousey prove herself in the ring but until she begins carrying her WWE persona from entrance to in ring to exit as a tough fighter she is Giggling Ronda Rousey and not Rowdy Ronda Rousey.
